COLLEGE PARK, Maryland, November 9. THE University of Maryland has been chosen as the host site for the 2009 NCAA Women's Water Polo Championships..

This will mark the first time the event has been held at an East Coast school. The University will hold the event at the Campus Recreation Center Natatorium, one of the top aquatic facilities in the nation and host to a number of other national events.

The 2009 Nationals will be held May 8-10 and they will mark the ninth year the NCAA has sponsored women's water polo. In 2007, Long Beach State will host the event in Los Alamitos, Calif., while Stanford will host the 2008 Nationals.
