Coming off successful seasons the Maritime men’s & women’s swimming and diving programs have announced the upcoming schedule of competition for the 2018-19 campaign.

Last year Maritime had strong showings at both the Skyline Conference Championships as well as the Metropolitan Conference Championships. The men’s team took second at the Skyline Championship and 10th at METs, while the women’s team wrapped up the season in fourth place at the Skyline Championship and took 15th at METs.

The 2018-19 campaign will open on the road as the Privateers will square off with William Paterson in Wayne, New Jersey on Tuesday, October 30. Following the non-conference bout with the Pioneers, Maritime will be on the road at Purchase to open up Skyline Conference competition on November 6.

The home schedule will begin with the next meet, which takes place on Monday, November 12 as the Privateers host the Old Westbury Panthers at 6 p.m.

The busiest weekend of the fall slate will take place on Friday, November 16 and Saturday, November 17 with key conference dual meets. The men’s team will go head-to-head with Sarah Lawrence, while the women’s team duals both Sarah Lawrence as well as host St. Joseph’s (LI) on Friday evening. The next morning the team competes at the Merchant Marine Invitational, which will also count as the team’s dual-meet score for Skyline Conference standing purposes.

The Privateers return from the Thanksgiving break on Tuesday, December 4 as the Privateers host non-conference Lehman before hosting Mount St. Mary on Friday, December 7 to close out the fall semester inside the Riesenberg Aquatic Center.

The spring slate begins on Wednesday, January 16 as Maritime hosts St. Joseph’s (Bklyn) for a dual meet at 6 p.m. to conclude Skyline Conference action.

The final league dual meet precedes the Skyline Conference Championship meet, which will take place at the U.S. Merchant Marine Academy on Friday, January 25 and Saturday, January 26. The Privateers will look to dethrone the host Mariners on both the men’s and women’s side and look to get to the top spot in the conference.

Maritime will host a women’s dual meet on Wednesday, January 30 as the Privateers will host Queens at 6 p.m. to close out the home schedule. The Knights dropped their men’s program during the offseason forcing the meet to be a women’s-only competition.

The season comes to a close on the third weekend in February, as the Privateers will take part in the Metropolitan Conference Championships. Competition for the event gets underway on Friday the 15th before concluding on Sunday the 17th at the Rutgers Aquatic Center in Piscataway, New Jersey.
