The Marist women’s and men’s swimming and diving teams will join with other alumni of the program to host the first ever Swimathon at 2 p.m. Friday, May 5, in McCann Natatorium.

The fundraiser will benefit former team member and Marist alumnus John-Takashi Suzuki ’93, who was recently diagnosed with multiple myeloma cancer and is currently undergoing treatment. To celebrate Suzuki’s birthday, members of the program will swim laps in the pool and donate a certain amount of money per lap.

All of the proceeds will go toward offsetting Suzuki’s medical costs and supporting his family. Swimmers spanning decades of Marist Swimming & Diving history will be returning to campus to swim laps, act as sponsors and support the cause.

Visit Suzuki’s GoFundMe page to find out how to get involved.
