Magnolia Aquatic Club’s Alberto Gomez Verbally Commits to Texas A&M

NEW COMMIT: The Texas A&M Aggies have swept up an in-state talent, securing a verbal commitment from Alberto Gomez, a NISCA All-American. He’ll head to College Station next fall along with Coco BratanovShaine CasasClayton BoboEthan Gogulski, and Peter SimmonsGomez swims for Magnolia Aquatic Club and is a senior at The Woodlands High School.

His best times are:

  • 50 Back 21.94
  • 100 Back 48.70
  • 200 Back 1:46.04
  • 200 IM 1:48.19
  • 400 IM 3:51.10

At last year’s Texas 6A High School state championships Gomez was fourth in the 200 IM (1:49.21) and the 100 backstroke (48.70). He anchored (44.40) his team’s second place 400 freestyle relay and swam the backstroke leg (23.28) of the fourth place 200 medley relay.

Gomez told Swimming World,

“I’m proud to announce that I have committed to Texas A&M University. Thanks to everyone who have supported me along the way. Can’t wait to be an Aggie next year #GigEm”
