Madison Coughlen has verbally committed to the University of Nebraska. Coughlen is a versatile addition to the team. She swims for Texas Ford Aquatics where she has posted strong IMs, butterfly, and distance freestyle times. She is also a USA Swimming Scholastic All-American.
Her best times are:
- 200 IM 2:04.06
- 400 IM 4:19.74
- 100 Fly 56.45
- 200 Fly 2:01.18
- 200 Free 1:52.19
- 500 Free 4:57.61
- 1000 Free 10:14.04
- 1650 Free 17:23.77
Nebraska finished ninth of thirteen teams at the 2016 Big Ten Championship. Coughlen would have been in the scoring C final of the 400 IM with her best times. She was exactly a second outside scoring range in the 200 butterfly last season. Dana Posthuma (2:00.96) was the team’s top finisher in that event and will be a great training partner for Coughlen.
