With the winter storm forcing many meets to be cancelled or postponed, Louisville was still able to compete against Kentucky in a Bluegrass State Battle. The Cardinal women beat the Wildcats 190-110, and the men defeated Kentucky 200-100.

The meet began with both the Louisville’s women (1:39.10) and men’s (1:27.55) 200 medley relay teams claiming first. Trevor Carroll led the way for the Cards by winning three individual events, taking first in the 50 free (20.06), 200 free (1:37.84), and 500 free (4:28.97).

Marah Pugh took second in the women’s 1000 (10:01.89) and placed third in the 500 free (4:55.70). Mallory Comerford won the women’s 200 free (1:47.70) followed by teammate Andrea Kneppers (1:49.86). Comerford also won the 50 free (23.28) with Kneppers again taking second (23.70).

The Cards swept the men’s 200 back, led by Grigory Tarasevich (1:45.42), and Pedro Coutinho (48.14) led the Cardinal’s 1-2-3 sweep in the men’s 100 fly. Tarasevich also won the men’s 100 back (47.59). Louisville swept the women’s 200 fly, led by Abbie Houck (2:00.46), and Zach Harting took second in the men’s event (1:48.57).

Andee Cottrell won the women’s 100 breast (1:01.37) and 200 breast (2:14.02), with Rachael Bradford-Feldman taking second in both. Bradford-Feldman later won the 200 IM (2:01.49), and Carlos Claverie took first in both the men’s 100 breast (54.48) and 200 breast (1:58.28). Alina Kendzior won the women’s 100 back (54.21) and took third in the 200 back (1:59.89).

Divers Andrea Acquista (273.5) and Maddy Ingmire (267) took second and third, respectively, in the women’s 1m, and Sean Pinner (310) dove to third in the men’s 3m.

Kelsi Worrell won the women’s 100 free (48.94) and the 100 fly (53.37). Matthias Lindenbauer won the men’s 100 free (44.82) with teammate David Boland taking second (45.10). Nolan Tesone touched the wall first in the men’s 200 IM (1:48.31) as the Cards swept the event. Just as the meet began, it concluded with Louisville taking the top spot in both the women’s and men’s 400 free relay.
