Worrell, Comerford, Tarasevich Win Twice As Louisville Falls to Indiana

Louisville hosted Indiana for their final dual meet of the season on Friday. The No. 9 Hoosiers defeated the No. 10 Cardinal men 175-125, and No. 12 Indiana women beat No. 10 Louisville 159-139.

The meet began with the Cardinal women winning the 200 medley relay (1:38.83) and the men’s relay team taking second (1:30.27).

Andrea Kneppers took third in the women’s 200 free (1:48.98) and second in the 100 free (50.42). Matthias Lindenbauer placed second in the men’s 200 free (1:37.75) and third in the 100 free (44.75).

Alina Kendzior won the women’s 100 back (54.64) and placed third in the 200 back (1:59.32). Marah Pugh took third in the women’s 1000 (10:00.75).

Grigory Tarasevich won the men’s 100 back (47.68) and led the Cardinals’ sweep of the 200 back in 1:44.82. Trevor Carroll took second in both the men’s 50 free (19.98) and 500 free (4:30.16).

Andrea Cottrell took second in both the women’s 100 breast (1:01.74) and 200 breast (2:13.90). Rachael Bradford-Feldman took third in the both the 100 breast (1:03.92) and 200 breast (2:14.95), and finished second in the 200 IM (2:00.67).

Carlos Claverie won the men’s 200 breast (1:58.17) and took second in the 100 breast (54.78). Nolan Tesone dominated the men’s 200 IM (1:46.64), winning by over two seconds.

Kelsi Worrell won the women’s 200 fly (1:56.40) and 200 back (1:55.63). Mallory Comerford touched the wall first in the women’s 50 free (23.30) and 100 free (49.80) before taking second in the 100 fly (54.39).

Sean Piner dove to second in both the men’s 1m (328.28) and 3m (335.48). Andrea Acquista took second in the women’s 1m (289.73), and Maddy Ingmire placed second in the 3m (382.95).

The meet concluded with the Louisville women winning the 400 free relay (3:20.36) and the men taking second (2:56.05).

The Cardinals return to the pool to host the Louisville Invitational on Feb. 13-14.
