NEW COMMIT: The Louisville Cardinals have picked up a recent verbal commitment for the fall of 2020 from high school junior Dalton Lowe of Spring, Texas.

Lowe swims year-round with Spring Swim Team and owns six Winter Juniors (or faster) cuts which includes a U.S. Open standard in the 100 fly. He placed eighth in the 100 fly at Juniors West last month after winning that event at the Southern Senior Championships. He achieved 100% best times at Junior Nationals this past summer and registered five top-15 finishes at College Station Speedo Sectionals last March.

Also competing for Spring High School, Lowe is a four-time UIL Texas 6A State Championship finalist. He was the 50 free runner-up and took fifth in the 100 fly as a sophomore after placing 13th and 12th, respectively, in those events during his freshman season. He has also earned NISCA All-American honors.

He told Swimming World:

“Proud to announce my commitment to Louisville!  Want to thank everyone who has helped me get to this point and to the coaches at Louisville for believing in me.  #GOCARDS”

His best times include:

  • 50 free – 20.31
  • 100 free – 45.25
  • 200 free – 1:39.76
  • 100 back – 49.61
  • 200 back – 1:49.63
  • 100 fly – 48.06

Lowe will make a big impact when he suits up for the Cards as a member of the class of 2024 following the graduation of Andrej Barna and Mate Kovacs. Lowe has improved tremendously over the past two seasons with 1.5 years of club swimming still to go: he has dropped a second off his 50 free, two from the 100 free, six from the 200 free, four from the 100 back, two from the 100 fly and 14 from the 200 IM.
