Lithuanian Long Course Nationals: Third Day in the Books

ALYTUS, Lithuania, July 3. WITH two national records in the first two days, swimmers could not continue the streak with another national mark during the third day of swimming at the Lithuanian Long Course Nationals held in Alytus.

Rugile Mileisyte topped the women's 100 free in 58.33, while Grite Apanavieiute took second in 58.61. Evelina Bieleskaite picked up third in 59.26, while Aiste Dobrovolskaite also cleared 1:00 with a fourth-place 59.33. Paulius Viktoravieius touched out Mindaugas Sadauskas, 51.79 to 51.86, in the men's 100 free. Tadas Duokinas placed third in 52.10.

Inga Dukyta cruised through the women's 200 back with a winning time of 2:25.30. Kristina Kontrimas placed second in 2:27.53, while Laura Dobrovolskaite earned third in 2:28.51. Matas Andriekus dominated the men's 200 back finale with a 2:06.74. Eimantas Vijaikis (2:08.49) and Aivaras Kubilius (2:12.69) rounded out the top three.

Urte Kazakevieiute claimed the women's 100 breast in 1:13.54, edging Raminta Dvariskyte's second-place effort of 1:13.60. Jekaterina Kiseliova completed the podium with a third-place 1:14.36. In another close contest, Edvinas Dautartas touched out Giedrius Titenis, 1:03.35 to 1:03.63, in the men's 100 breast. Simas Jarasunas pocketed third in 1:05.40.

Grite Apanavieiute captured the women's 50 fly in 28.65 with Evelina Bieleckaite taking second in 28.85. Giedre Grigonyte wound up third in 28.97. Vytautas Janusaitis snatched the men's 50 fly title in 24.90. Tadas Duskinas (25.03) and Edvinas Apeinikovas (25.77) finished second and third.

Jurate Deerbinskaite earned the women's 800 free crown in 9:40.88. Guoda Jonelyta placed second in 9:41.80, while Laura Maeiulaityte finished third in 9:59.55. Simas Piaukas won the men's 1500 free in 17:10.02. Povilas Strazdas (17:21.43) and Justas Maksimavieius (17:41.11) placed second and third.
