NEW COMMIT: Lehigh University has received their first verbal commitment for the 2021-22 season and beyond from in-state standout Connor Goodyear of Furlong, Pa.

Regarding his commitment, he said:

“I am excited to announce I will be continuing my academic and athletic careers at Lehigh University. Thank you to my friends, family, and coaches who helped me get here! #mountainhawks”

A talented freestyler and IMer, Goodyear does his club swimming with Upper Dublin Aquatic Club and earned five best times at the NCAP Invitational in December. Last summer, he finished 18th in both the 200m free and 200m IM at Middle Atlantic LCM Seniors.

His best times include:

  • 100 free – 48.14
  • 200 free – 1:42.08
  • 500 free – 4:37.65
  • 200 IM – 1:54.34

Also competing for La Salle College High School, Goodyear is a three-time Pennsylvania 3A State Championship finalist. He placed 10th in the 500 free and 15th in the 200 free as a junior while taking 15th in the latter event during his sophomore season.

When he arrives in Bethlehem as a member of the Mountain Hawks’ class of 2025, Goodyear will add valuable depth to their mid-distance freestyle group. He would’ve been their fourth-fastest 200 freestyler last season and ranked third on their lineup in the 500 free.
