Kohei Kawamoto Sets Asian Record in Men’s 100 Fly

OITA, Japan, September 14. AT the National Sports Festival in Oita, Japan, Kohei Kawamoto set an Asian record in the men's 100 fly.

Kawamoto clocked a time of 51.33, with a 50 split of 23.92, to set the standard. Takuro Fuji held the previous record with a pair of 51.50s in prelims and finals at the 2008 Beijing Olympics.

Kawamoto's previous top time had been a 51.71 set at the U.S. Open held in Minneapolis, Minn.
