Katie Ledecky Opens Night With 200 Free Win

Katie Ledecky started the first full night of the meet strong with a win in the 200 Free. She finished in 1:55.78, well ahead of former Stanford teammate Simone Manuel, who finished in 1:58.52.

Melanie Margalis finished third in 1:58.68, followed by Hali Flickinger in 1:59.54 and Gabby DeLoof in 1:58.77.

Regan Smith finished sixth, and like the five ahead of her, achieved an Olympic trials cut for 2020.

Aly Ackman was seventh (2;01.06) and Alex Walsh finished eighth (2:01.29).
