BOYDS – Katie Ledecky lowered her own National High School record a day after blasting her 500-yard free American mark.

Ledecky will soon make her decision public on whether she will take a gap year to focus on the 2016 Rio Olympics or enroll immediately at Stanford University this fall.

Missy Franklin still holds the top time ever with an American record 1:40.31, while Ledecky’s time tonight stands sixth all time.

Ledecky closed her high school career with a sizzling 22.34 anchor leg for Stone Ridge’s 200-yard free relay second-place finish of 1:36.98.  Only Holton-Arms’ Caroline McTaggart had a faster split with a 22.30 for their winning 1:35.59. McTaggart was the sprint queen this meet with wins in the 50 (22.69) and 100 (48.75) freestyle events.
