Katie Ledecky Headlines Speedo Tom Dolan Invitational to Be Aired on SwimmingWorld.TV

COLLEGE PARK, Maryland, December 10. IT’s going to be a busy weekend at the 2013 Speedo Tom Dolan Invitational as some of the best swimmers in the area will be taking part in the incredible annual event. For the fifth year in a row, we are proud to be presenting a live stream and on-demand of this event on SwimmingWorld.TV.

The top talent in town will be NCAP’s own Katie Ledecky. Just a week after blitzing the 1650-yard freestyle American record with a stunning 15:15.17, Ledecky is slated for a bit of a victory lap with swims in the 50 free and 200 fly.

The short course yards meet is hosted by Nation’s Capital Swim Club, and will also feature some of the best swimmers in the region at the four-day meet taking place Dec. 12-15 in College Park, Maryland.

Some of NCAP’s national age group record breaking swimmers from USA Swimming Winter Nationals will be in attendance with the new 50 free 17-18 record holder Janet Hu scheduled for seven events, including the 50 free. Andrew Seliskar, 17, also will be in attendance for NCAP and will be on the hunt for some national age group records.

Additionally, other NCAP relay record holder Schuyler Bailar, Robyn Dryer, Megan Byrnes and Kylie Jordan. Another strong swimmer to look out for is 16-year-old Carsten Vissering of NCAP.

Additionally, other age group record holders like the gentle giant Reece Whitley, 13, of Penn Charter will be in attendance. Whitley made his move into the national swimming consciousness last year with some amazing breaststroke swims as a 12 year old. Another top-line swimmer at the Tom Dolan will be the young firecracker Allie Szekely of the Central Bucks.

Fourteen-year old David Dixon currently holds the year’s fastest 200 yard Butterfly time for the age group in the nation at 1:51.01, a time that also stands as the 10th fastest ever for a 13 or 14 year old boy. Only a scant second off Michael Phelps’ best time in the event at that age, and 2.5 seconds off the NAG record, Dixon has a great chance to lower his own Virginia state record as he seeks to become the fastest 13/14 200 Butterfly swimmer in US history.

SwimmingWorld.com and SwimmingWorld.TV will present the live stream of each finals session of the Tom Dolan Invitational beginning Thursday. Age group timed finals begin at 2 p.m. Open Finals on Friday, Saturday and Sunday are scheduled to start at 6 p.m. Eastern time. Don’t miss a minute of this great meet!
