Juniors Finalist Alex Lynch of Longhorn Aquatics Selects Denver
NEW COMMIT: Breaststroker and IMer Alex Lynch has announced his commitment to the University of Denver and will arrive on campus at the start of the 2020-21 season.
He told Swimming World:
“I am very excited to announce my commitment to the University of Denver Swimming and Diving class of 2024. Thank you to my coaches, friends and family for all they have done for me. I’m looking forward to the next four years!”
Lynch does his club swimming with Longhorn Aquatics and owns the Junior National standard in the 200 breast. He most recently competed at College Station Sectionals where he earned seven best times and placed eighth in the 200m breast. He finished 18th in the 200 breast at Juniors West in December and took fourth in that event at Des Moines Futures this past summer.
His best times include:
- 100 breast – 56.24
- 200 breast – 1:59.56
- 200 IM – 1:53.20
- 400 IM – 4:02.20
A current senior at McCallum High School, Lynch is a six-time Texas UIL 5A State Championship finalist and has earned USA Swimming Scholastic All-American honors. He was the 100 breast runner-up and took fourth in the 200 IM as a senior, fifth and eighth in those events as a junior, and 11th in the 100 breast during his sophomore season.
