Jones to Lead Team USA in Synchronized Events at World Champs

INDIANAPOLIS, Indiana, March 8. CHRISTINA Jones, set to compete in the solo competition, will lead the United States National Synchronized Swimming Team at the FINA World Championships in Melbourne from March 17-24. The World Champs will feature solo, duet, team and combination events during the course of the week.

The fifth-place finisher in the solo event at the 2005 World Championships, Jones will team with Andrea Nott in the duet competition. The tandem was fourth at last year's World Cup and Trophy Cup. In the combination event, the United States is seeking a gold-medal showing, which it generated at the World Trophy Cup last year.

Team USA includes Brooke Abel (Fallbrook, Calif.), Janet Culp (Littleton, Colo.), Jennie Culp (Littleton, Colo.), Kate Hooven (Pleasanton, Calif.), Christina Jones (Fremont, Calif.), Becky Kim (Walnut Creek, Calif.), Meghan Kinney, (Mission Viejo, Calif.) Andrea Nott (San Jose, Calif.), Annabelle Orme (Walnut Creek, Calif.), Jillian Penner (Seattle, Wash.), Kim Probst (Troy, N.Y.) and Layla Smith (Boulder, Colo.).
