GILLETTE— Jeremy Young finished first in three events today during Wyoming’s 4A Boys High School State Championships.

Kelly Walsh claimed the boys’ state title with 253 points, while Rock Springs (200) and Campbell County (192) kept it close for second and third.

Junior Jeremy Young was a key figure in today’s win, finishing first in two individual events and a relay. Young joined with Colin O’Neill, Remington Wagner, and Talon Marquard for a successful 200 medley relay of 1:37.58.

Rock Springs senior Kayden Harbison grabbed his first win of the morning in the 200 free. The senior finished in 1:43.12 ahead of Campbell County’s Noah Beaver (1:44.40).

Young’s continued his success in the 200 IM where he finished four seconds ahead of the competition. Conner Baldacci of Campbell County was second in 2:00.86, while Robert Brown touched third with a time of 2:03.55.

Laramie senior Connor Petty managed to get ahead and grab a win in the 100 fly with a time of 53.28. Kelly Walsh’s Talon Marquard finished close behind Petty in 53.88, while Baldacci grabbed third with a 54.38.

Evanston senior Ben Wisdorf challenged Young in the 100 free but the junior was able to stave off the senior to grab the gold. Young out-touched Wisdorf (46.63) by .02 seconds, finishing with a time of 46.61 to earn him his third first-place finish of the day.

After winning the 200 free earlier this morning, Harbison crushed the competition in the 500 free. The senior finished with a time of 4:42.00, more than sixteen seconds ahead of the second place finisher.

It was a fight to the finish in the 200 free relay with the top three finishers touching within .16 seconds of each other. Laramie’s relay team of Petty, Andy Weathermon, Cas Sheridan and Jesse Franc won with a 1:30.04. Easton’s Hunter Marshall, Trevor Adrian, Robert Broan and Ben Wisdorf accomplished second in 1:30.17, while Kelly Walsh’s Jacob Caputa, Ethen Smith, Alex Domson, and Tommy Drazick were third with a time of 1:30.20.
