Jarrett Payne Sets 11-12 NAG Record In 50 Fly

12-year-old Jarrett Payne took down the National Age Group record in the 50 butterfly at the 2019 Great Lakes Zone YMCA Championships. Representing the Springfield Family YMCA, Payne took the record down in a time trial on Sunday, posting a 23.49 to break the 11-12 NAG record.
Payne had been just off the record last weekend in the 50 fly, posting times of 23.91 and 23.85, respectively.
His time from this weekend broke the previous record from 2014 that was held by Vinny Marciano.

He also has 5 YMCA National Cuts as a 12 year old & will be swimming in Greensboro in 2 weeks.

Thank you! He was excited to be back at OSU for Zones. His first Zone Meet was at OSU at age 7 in 1 relay, so it was extra special to get his first NAG record at Zones in that pool!
