NEW COMMIT: Just days after Carter Roehrle verbally committed to James Madison University Morgan Whaley has also chosen to become a member of the Dukes’ Class of 2022.

Whaley told Swimming World,

“After my first unofficial visit to James Madison University in January, I knew I was home. I fell in love with all things JMU, from the incredible coaching staff, team, and atmosphere. They have supported me throughout the recruiting process and made me feel apart of the JMU family. I never had a doubt that James Madison would be my future home. I am excited to start the next chapter of my academic and athletic journey. Go Dukes!”

At the 2017 CAA Championships Whaley would have been the Dukes’ fastest butterflier, with lifetime bests that would have finished in the A final. She also could have been a B finalist in the backstroke events. She currently swims for Williamsburg Aquatic Club. Whaley’s best SCY times are:

  • 100 Fly 55.21
  • 200 Fly 2:01.95
  • 100 Back 57.08
  • 200 Back 2:02.58

At the 2017 Virginia 3A State Championships, swimming for Warhill High School, she finished third in the 100 fly and fourth in the 100 back.
