Jake Kealy has given his verbal commitment to William and Mary. His last name will be a familiar one to the Tribe, as his older brother Tommy is a junior this year. While Tommy is a multiple time CAA finalist, he is a butterfly and distance freestyle specialist. Jake is a backstroker. He swims for the Wilton YMCA Wahoos like his brother did.

Jake’s best times are:

  • 50 Back 23.70
  • 100 Back 49.87
  • 200 Back 1:47.67

At last spring’s YMCA Nationals, Kealy finished seventh in the 200 backstroke. He also led off the Wahoos’ runner up 400 medley relay and fifth place 200 medley relay squad. Additionally, he was a 100 backstroke B finalist.

The Tribe men took home the 2016 CAA title and Kealy would have been a point scoring contributor. His best 200 backstroke time would have finished fifth. The Tribe filled six of the top eight places. Only Joey Rento (1:47.81) and Wyatt Grubb (1:48.01) will still be on campus when Kealy moves to Williamsburg next fall. In the 100 backstroke he would have topped the B final. In that event, the Tribe showed much less depth, taking only three of the top 16 spots. Grubb (49.83) will be the leading relay contender at that point.
