Beginning on Thursday with diving preliminaries, the top male high school swimmers and divers will compete for the 2018 Minnesota High School state championships.

Class A

The team from Alexandria has the fastest times in the 200 medley and 400 freestyle relays, and enters second in the 200 freestyle relay. Alexandria is led by Patrick Chromey– the second seed in the 200 and 100 freestyles. Nic Chromey has the top spot in the 100 breaststroke.

Winona’s Griffin Wolner is top seed in the 200 and his teammate Jack Herczeg leads the way in the 100. Wolner’s brother Grant has the fastest time in the 200 IM.

William Meacham, a senior from Red Winghas the fastest time in the 100 butterfly by nearly two seconds.

Class AA

Chanhassen senior Jack Dahlgren has two top seeds. The Missouri commit leads the way in the 200 freestyle and the 100 backstroke, where he is the state record holder. His teammate Dolan Craine is set up for a great race with Minnetonka’s John Shelstad in the 200 IM. Shelstad is also second seed in the 100 butterfly, behind teammate Erik Gessner.

Andrew Trepanier, a junior from Lakeville North, is the fastest entrant in the 50 freestyle by nearly a second. His 100 freestyle entry time is nearly two seconds faster than second.

Minnetonka has the second seed in all three relays. Shakopee leads the way in both freestyle relays while Chanhassen has the fastest entry time in the 200 medley relay.
