J-Hawk Backstroker Bridgette Alexander Commits to Kentucky

MILTON, Wisconsin, September 21. KENTUCKY head coach Lars Jorgensen picked up his first big commitment of the Class of 2014 in his first year at the helm of the Wildcats. This week, J-Hawk’s Bridgette Alexander made the call to become a future Wildcat.

Alexander, ranked 64th in the Class of 2014 by CollegeSwimming.com (http://www.collegeswimming.com/swimmer/152779/), will provide the Wildcats with some backstroke ability in a stocked Southeastern Conference.

Alexander’s top career time is a 1:02.53 in the 100-meter backstroke from the 2012 Speedo Junior National Championships. She also has a 1:57.20 in the 200-yard backstroke from the 2012 Wisconsin Lake Fall Western meet.

Alexander, the fourth-ranked prospect out of the state of Wisconsin, also has some swift lifetime bests in the 100-yard back and 200-meter backstroke events. She clocked a 2:15.17 in the 200-meter back at the 2012 Speedo Juniors, while also posting a 54.79 in the 100-yard back at the 2012 Wisconsin Senior State Championships.

“Great coaches, great swimmers, and a great program,” Alexander posted on her CollegeSwimming.com profile. “I love everything that UK has to offer not only for me as a swimmer but me as a student-athlete as well! Go Cats!”
