IU Diving Signs Berger

BLOOMINGTON, Indiana, November 28. HIGH school senior Scott Berger has signed with Indiana University, head diving coach Dr. Jeff Huber announced Nov. 28.

"Scott is not only a great diver, but a great student and person, as well," Huber said. "We are extremely lucky to have Scott commit to Indiana University, and he will have a very positive impact on our team and training atmosphere. I am looking forward to establishing a great rapport with Scott and working with him for the next four years."

A Carmel, Ind., native, Berger helped Carmel High School to an Indiana High School Athletic Association state championship in 2004.

A member of the Starz Diving Club, Berger dove at the 2004 and 2005 Junior Nationals and the 2006 U.S. Open. He also competed at the Spring and Summer Regionals from 2002-05 and the Summer and Winter Regionals in 2006, taking second place in both the one-meter and three-meter at the 2004 Spring Regionals. Berger also competed at the West National Championships from 2004-06.

"IU is a great school with amazing coaches and a fantastic diving team," Berger said. "No other university, in my opinion, can live up to IU's record of producing champions."

Berger is a member of the National Honor Society, Spanish Honor Society and the Spanish Club, and was a National French Exam medalist.

Berger is the son of James and Sharon Berger.
