ISHOF Will Dedicate Induction Ceremony to Marjory Stoneman Douglas Victim – Swimmer Nicholas Dworet

The International Swimming Hall of Fame (ISHOF) is proud to announce that this year’s 56th annual Honoree Induction Ceremony will be dedicated to  Marjory Stoneman Douglas senior, Nicholas Dworet, who was among the 17 victims shot and killed at the Parkland High School, February 14, 2018, two years ago today in South Florida’s most horrific mass shooting in history.

Dworet was a swimmer at Stoneman Douglas and had planned to swim at the University of Indianapolis.  “He dreamed of making the Olympic swim team and going to the 2020 Olympics in Tokyo,” his family said in a statement released shortly after his death.

In addition to dedicating the evening to Dworet, his teammates will be a part of the opening ceremony parade and ISHOF will be supporting Nick’s foundation, Swim with Nick, whose next event will be the Swim with Nick Ocean Race on March 21, 2020,beginning at Dr. Von D. In addition to the Class of 2020, two Honorees from the Class of 2019, who were unable to attend last year, will be present to be inducted. Honor Swimmer: Otylia Jedrzejczak (POL) and Honor Diver: Li Ting (CHN).
