Ippei Watanabe Wins 100 Breast at Japan Student Championships

Ippei Watanabe was back to competition on Friday, swimming in the Japan Student Swimming Championships.

Several of Japan’s top swimmers participated.

Watanabe, who attends Waseda University, won the 100 breast in 1:00.29, his third consecutive title in the event.

In the women’s 100 breast, Kanako Watanabe won in 1:07.47.

Mahiro Ishii won the women’s 400 free in 4:10.52 to set a meet record.

Nao Horamura won the 200 fly in 1:56.08. Yumi Nakano won the women’s race in 2:08.32.
