Introducing Swim Science Now; A Pilot SwimmingWorld.TV Show For Coaches

SwimmingWorld.TV is testing out a new show focusing on the science side of swimming. This first episode brings three different fields of science together to discuss the mental, training and biomechanical aspects of the sport.

Brent Rutemiller hosts the pilot episode and brings on Sports Psychologist, Dr. John Heil, Training Methodology Scientist, Dr. Sergei Beliaev and Biomechanical Scientist, Dr. Rod Havriluk together to talk about some of the performances coming out of the recent NCAA Championships.

Each guest brings a unique perspective to the sport. Listen as Dr. Heil talks about the fatiguing effects of worry and lack of sleep. Dr. Beliaev talks about how the NCAA swimmers will have to go through a quick recover stage and then get back to work in preparation for the Olympic Trials and the Olympics. And Finally, Dr. Havriluk talks about the difference in training for yards vs meters and what adjustments athletes and coaches will have to make over the next 12 weeks.

Rutemiller, leads the panel through a series of questions designed to bring more perspective on the sport of swimming.
