International Swimming Festival, Aachen: Sprint 50s Take Center Stage

AACHEN, Germany, October 15. A whole lot of sprint 50s took place during the second day of short course meter action at the International Swimming Festival in Aachen.

Belgium's Kimberly Buys won the women's 50 fly in 26.78, while Belgium's Emmanuel Vanluchene captured the men's 50 fly in 23.69. Buys doubled up with a 28.52 to win the women's 50 back, while Vanluchene also doubled up with a 24.57 in the men's 50 back.

The Netherlands' Loes Zanderink topped the women's 50 breast in 31.17, while compatriot Robin van Aggele touched in 27.74 to win the men's 50 breast. Belgium's Jolien Sysmans claimed the women's 50 free in 24.92, while Belgium's Pieter Timmers hit the wall in 22.44 in the men's 50 free.

The Netherlands' Wendy van den Zanden captured the women's 100 IM in 1:02.08, while countrymate Timon Evenhuis earned the men's 100 IM in 55.07.

The meet also featured a mixed 200 medley relay as Belgium's Dieter Dekonick, Kim Janssens, Kimberly Buys and Pieter Timmers won in 1:45.77.

Loes led the way in the women's 200 breast with a 2:26.94, while Jonas Coreelman raced to a meet record in 2:09.09 in the men's 200 breast. Lena Kalla paced the women's 200 fly in 2:11.59, while Egon van der Straeten posted a 1:57.71 in the men's 200 fly.

Wendy van den Zanden hit the wall in 2:09.00 in the women's 200 back, while Joey de Ruiter clocked a 2:01.58 in the men's 200 back. Sabrina Marzhan posted a 4:13.46 in the women's 400 free, while Job Kienhuis turned in a 3:46.03 in the men's 400 free.
