International Swimming Festival, Aachen: Job Kienhuis, Wendy van den Zanden Shine in Night One

AACHEN, Germany, October 14. WHILE most of the world will be looking towards Stockholm for the FINA World Cup stop, some other short course meter swimming will be taking place at the International Swimming Festival being held in Aachen, Germany this weekend.

Job Kienhuis turned in the top time of the men's 1500 free with a winning time of 14:39.97. That swim stands third in the early season rankings behind Rocco Potenza (14:31.73) and Samuel Pizzetti (14:38.38). Arjen van der Meulen took second in 15:12.06, while Soren Meibner finished third in 15:19.31.

Wendy van den Zanden raced to victory in the women's 400 IM with a 4:40.67. Lieke Verouden placed second in 4:42.98, while Lena Kalla earned third-place honors in 4:43.62.

Sabrina Marzhan topped the women's 800 free in 8:39.83, while Rosalie Kathner touched second in 8:45.76. Marieke Nijhuis finished third in 8:46.10. Raphael Stacchiotti snared the men's 400 IM crown in 4:18.52, while Jens Bakker took second in 4:21.14. Mathieu Mattelaer rounded out the top three in 4:24.83.
