Industry News: TYR Rolls Out “Smart Chart” Goggle Selection System

HUNTINGTON BEACH, California, February 10. TYR Sport Inc. is recognized for its leading innovation in the water. The company unveiled its latest consumer sales tool: "Smart Chart: The Goggle Selection System."

The Smart Chart has been designed to function as a "silent salesperson" with key information available in ten languages. The consumer will now know which goggle is ideal for their skill level, head-size and preferences by simply comparing TYR's variety of goggles side-by-side.

By breaking down four key product attributes, The Smart Chart uses universal icons and an easy to follow scale that allows swimmers of all levels to identify the correct goggle with ease. These four categories and explanations have been simplified, and color-coded, to represent the following:

Ability Level (Red): Beginner to expert.
Gasket Size (Blue): Smaller to larger.
Gasket Softness (Green): Firm to harder.
Sight / Peripheral (Yellow): Narrow to wide.

"Perhaps more than any other company in our space, TYR has always been a leader in innovation and instruction," said Steve Furniss, executive vice president at TYR. "Our customers will find the benefits of Smart Chart helpful when determining which goggle works best for them. Until now, information presented in this way did not exist. This is not only a first for TYR, but also for the entire swim industry. "

As one of the world's most popular recreational activities, swimming remains relatively safe, yet protecting the eyes from the potentially harmful effects of pool chemicals and other irritants present in pool, sea, and lake water is considered essential. Fortunately, the solution to eye protection can be found in a properly fitted optical grade swim goggle and the Smart Chart goggle selection system aims to make that solution successful.

TYR will also supplement the Smart Chart on its website as an interactive tool at www.tyr.com.

Special thanks to TYR for contributing this report.
