Industry News: Georgetown University Alumni and Parents Donate New Colorado Time Systems’ LED Matrix Display to Natatorium

LOVELAND, Colorado, November 17. THE three-and-a-half-year campaign to upgrade the scoreboard at Georgetown University's Albert G. McCarthy, Jr. Swimming Pool came to fruition the last week of October, 2009. The University sought to upgrade its scoreboard to a digital LED display that could display animations, logos, and competitor names along with their times.

The University acquired a Colorado Time Systems' Single-Color 23mm Amber LED Matrix Display that measures approximately 7 ft x 11 ft (2.2m x 3.3m). The new display will make its debut the weekend of January 22, with home meets against Army and St. Bonaventure University.

"The board is getting a lot of hype here on campus both by athletes and administrators alike," Head Coach Steven Cartwright said. "The entire system exceeds our expectations! We could not be more pleased with the display and we certainly look forward to maximizing its use for many years to come, not only in meets; but every day in practice as well.

Not only is it beneficial for the athletes that train here at Georgetown on a daily basis, but for our visiting athletes, parents and alumni as well. This display truly enhances the student-athlete experience. Our relationship with Colorado Time Systems has always been great, they set the industry standard of putting the customer first. We look forward to continuing our relationship in the years to come."

"Colorado Time Systems has a long-standing relationship with Georgetown University. We are thrilled to continue our relationship with the addition of the new 23mm display," said CTS National Sales Manager Rick Connell. "It was an honor with work with the University and Coach Steven Cartwright on this project."

Based in Loveland, Colorado, Colorado Time Systems has established a reputation for precision and innovation in swim timing, scoring, and display equipment. Since 1972, premier aquatic facilities have chosen Colorado Time Systems for platinum quality timing, scoring, and display systems.
