Industry News: FINIS Announces Partnership with Swim Across America

LIVERMORE, California, June 10. FINIS, a world leader in technical swimming products that maximize your fitness potential and technique, announces their partnership with Swim Across America, an organization that raises money for cancer research, prevention, and treatment through swimming events across the country. In 2013, FINIS is proud to promote the 18 open water swims and dozens of pool swims that Swim Across America has scheduled.

“Both FINIS and Swim Across America have grown exponentially over the years, so a national partnership seemed like a great match for the swimming community.” said FINIS CEO, John Mix. “We are in the market to encourage everyone in the world to get out and swim, and now SAA gives us even more of a reason to do that. We are thrilled to partner with SAA and help those with cancer.”

In 2008, FINIS lost an employee and dear friend, David Andrew, to cancer. Thousands of SAA participants swim in honor or memory of a loved one, and FINIS looks forward to honoring David both with the partnership, and by putting together a FINIS team to participate in the SAA — San Francisco Bay Swim.

FINIS chose Swim Across America as a partner in this endeavor not only because it is the largest national organization fighting cancer through swimming, but also because of the values both organizations share. “We promise that our swimmers will always know their impact in the fight against cancer because, at SAA, money raised locally, stays local. Each open water swim supports a beneficiary in the city where it is held. Our swimmers know that the money they raise isn't going into a black hole,” said Swim Across America President & CEO, Janel Jorgensen McArdle.
