Industry News: Competitor Racing Lanes To Be Used In Olympic Pool For Ninth Time

MEDINA, Ohio, July 26. COMPETITOR Swim Products, a Division of Richey Industries, Inc., will once again be part of the Summer Olympics, set to begin in London on July 27, 2012.

The company, a manufacturer of racing lanes for competitive swimming, announced that its Competitor brand Racing Lanes were chosen for the Summer Olympics again this year. The company’s racing lanes were also chosen for the U.S. Olympic trials held recently in Omaha, Nebraska.

President Richey Smith noted, “We are truly honored that our Competitor Racing Lanes will be in the Olympic pool for the ninth time, including the 2008 games in Beijing. We feel this speaks to the quality of our product and our reputation among the competitive swimming community throughout the world.”

While the Olympics present a prestigious honor for the company, Competitor Racing Lanes are widely used by schools, universities, health clubs, YMCA’s and summer swimming facilities throughout North America and the world. Competitor Swim Products also manufactures and/or distributes Stor-Lane Reels, Water Polo Goals, Swedish Speed Goggles, and Backstroke Flags.

Neal Thomas, Vice President of Richey Industries, stated, “Most major swimming events throughout the world are required to use Competitor Racing Lanes per the rules of the International Swimming Federation (FINA). Last year, we produced almost half a million feet of racing lanes for our customers.”
