Indiana’s Cody Miller Added to Team USA Roster for Duel in the Pool

BLOOMINGTON, Indiana, October 9. INDIANA senior Cody Miller announced his intentions today to represent Team USA at the Duel in the Pool this December in Scotland.

Miller will be a vital component at the meet in the breaststroke events. He swam the 100 and 200 breaststroke races at the World University Games, placing seventh in both races. Miller is also a stellar individual medley swimmer, making the championship final of the 200 IM at the 2013 NCAAs, where he was third for the Hoosiers.

As is the case for many American swimmers, Miller has no short course meters times to serve as a benchmark for his upcoming performances in Scotland. But with the meet favoring college swimmers with its dual-meet format, Miller could still be a key player against the European All-Stars.

So far, Nic Fink is the only other breaststroker committed to Team USA, though Fink’s Georgia teammate Chase Kalisz is a possibility for the 200 breast.

The official roster for Team USA is expected to be released in the coming weeks. The Duel in the Pool will take place December 20-21 in Glasgow’s Tollcross International Swim Center, the site of the 2014 Commonwealth Games.
