Indiana University Vice President and Director of Intercollegiate Athletics Fred Glass announced Friday that he did not renew Ryan Castle’s contract as head coach of the Indiana University water polo program.

A search for Castle’s replacement is underway.

Assistant coaches Emily Carr and Taylor Dodson will lead the program until a successor is named and determines whether to retain them.

Senior Associate Athletic Director Jeremy Gray will otherwise oversee the program until a new head coach is hired. That search is being led by Gray, with the counsel and support of advisors inside and outside the athletic department, including a student-athlete from the water polo team.

At Indiana, Castle posted a 52-36 overall record with a conference record of 10-12. This past season, freshman Izzy Mandema was named All-MPSF Honorable-Mention and also earned a spot on the MPSF All-Newcomer Team, while Carlie Crumbaugh, Gillian Gatecliff and Emily Powell were named MPSF All-Academic Scholar Athletes.
