NEW COMMIT: USA Swimming Scholastic All-American Maggie Berning has announced her verbal commitment to swim for Ohio University beginning in the 2018-2019 season. Berning, who competes for Kettering Fairmont High School and swims year-round for the Dayton Raiders, should have an immediate scoring impact for the Bobcats when she arrives in Athens. Her top SCY times include:

  • 100 fly—55.66
  • 200 fly – 2:00.31
  • 100 back—58.20
  • 200 back – 2:05.44

Berning’s best time in the 200 Fly would have put her in the middle of the A final at the 2017 MAC Championships, while her 100 fly would have scored in the middle of the B final.

She wrote,

“suuuper excited to announce my verbal commitment to continue my swimming and academic career at Ohio University!  Go bobcats!! #OU #ohyaaaa”
