Illinois High School State Champ Colton Paulson Verbally Commits to Louisville
NEW COMMIT: The University of Louisville has picked up a verbal commitment from Colton Paulson. The Peoria Notre Dame High School senior is an Illinois high school state champion and a USA Swimming Scholastic All-American. Last winter he won the 200 freestyle (1:38.15) and was 500 freestyle runner up (4:24.64). He’s also been the 500 freestyle state champ, taking home that gold medal as a sophomore.
Paulson trains with Redbird Swim Club. His best times are:
- 200 Free 1:37.67
- 500 Free 4:24.64
- 1000 Free 9:08.54
- 1650 Free 15:23.85
At the 2017 ACC Championships Paulson would have scored some points for the Cards. His best 1650 freestyle time would have placed 14th and he would have been 22nd in the 500 freestyle.
He wrote on Instagram,
“Couldn’t be happier to announce my verbal commitment to further my academic and swimming career at the University of Louisville! #GoCards”
