Hawaii Says Aloha to Class of 2026 Recruiting With Verbal Pledge from England’s Lola Davison
NEW COMMIT: The University of Hawaii has landed their first verbal commitment for the 2022-23 season and beyond from Lola Davison of England.
Regarding her commitment, she said:
“I am very excited to announce my verbal commitment to the university of Hawaii swim and dive programme as of 2022 to continue with my athletic and academic career. GO BOWS!”
A talented distance swimmer, Davison trains year-round with Newcastle Swim Club under head coach Ryan Livingstone. At the 2018 British Championships, she earned gold in the 400m/800m free and silver in the 200m free. In 2019, she won the 800m free and was the runner-up in the 400m free.
She has also represented England at Open Water national meets and was a 2020 British Olympic Trials qualifier. She’s currently a student at Royal Grammar School Newcastle.
In LCM, her best times include:
- 50 free – 27.75
- 100 free – 57.90
- 200 free – 2:02.40
- 400 free – 4:17.19
- 800 free – 8:53.54
- 100 fly – 1:04.40
In SCY, those times convert to:
- 50 free – 24.27
- 100 free – 50.72
- 200 free – 1:47.38
- 400 free – 4:48.16
- 800 free – 9:57.57
- 100 fly – 56.75
Davison will be a valuable asset when she arrives on campus and will join the defending MPSF conference champions. Her best times (converted to yards) would’ve scored in the top-8 of the 100, 200, and 500 free at the conference meet. She also would’ve been the second-fastest 200 and 500 freestyler on the roster.
