Haley Lips, 13, Sets YMCA 100 Butterfly Standard

COLLEGE PARK, Maryland, August 1. HALEY Lips, 13, of Middle Tyger YMCA broke the women's 100 butterfly standard at the YMCA National Long Course Championships during the second night of competition. Lips clocked a 1:02.37 to surpass the 1:02.48 set by Felicia Lee on July 28, 2005.

Andrew Stoker of Upper Main Line followed with a win in the men's 100 fly in 57.18 as he touched out Steve Dukleth of BR Ryall (57.22).

In the 200 breaststroke events, Stephanie Conklin, 17, of Blue Ash Ranch held off Lindsay Graessle of Countryside Ralph Stolle, 2:38.31 to 2:38.51, to win the women's race, while Graessle's teammate Justin Farra won the men's 200 breast in 2:24.53.

Melissa Helock, 17, of Fanwood-Scotch Plains nabbed the women's 200 free in 2:08.24 over Kelsey Grushecky of Laurel Highlands Regional (2:08.52), while Travis McNamara, 17, of Cheshire topped the men's 200 free in 1:54.39.

Luke Bushman, 16, of Green Bay Metro clocked an 8:28.32 to win the men's 800 free, while Caroline Smith, 16, of Winston Salem touched in 17:04.35 to claim the women's 1500 free.
