Alex is a Winter National qualifier in the 100 Breast. She has also competed for the Gators at Winters Junior Nationals (2015) and the NCSA Spring and Summer Championships (2013-2016) in the 100 Breast, 200 Breast, 200 IM, and 400 IM.

Alex is the current LCM Open State Champion for Michigan in the 100 Breast, 200 Breast, 200 IM, and 400 IM.

She is also a 2 time USA Swimming Scholastic All American.

Alex will join her Gators’ teammate, Jacob Montague, in Ann Arbor along with fellow Grosse Pointe South alumni, Ali DeLoof, Gabby DeLoof, Catie DeLoof, and Jackie DeLoof.

“With Michigan, I know I will be getting a world class education along with world class swimming from Coach Bottom, Bishop, and Brager. The girls on the team have already welcomed me with open arms. I can’t wait to be a Wolverine next fall. GO BLUE” says Hughes.
