Green Bay’s Emma Lasecki Sends 2020 In-State Verbal to Wisconsin Badgers
NEW COMMIT: Shortly after picking up a huge recruit in Phoebe Bacon, the Wisconsin Badgers gained another impressive verbal commitment for the fall of 2020 from in-state swimmer Emma Lasecki of Green Bay, Wisc.
Primarily a butterflyer and IMer, Lasecki swims year-round with Green Bay Swim Club and owns four Summer Juniors standards. She most recently competed at the Wisconsin 13&O Championships where she recorded six personal best times and earned five gold medals. She was the 200m fly and 400m IM runner-up at Iowa City Speedo Sectionals before going on to win the latter at the Wisconsin 13&O LCM Championships this past summer.
Also competing for Bay Port High School, Lasecki is a six-time Wisconsin DI State Championship finalist. The USA Swimming Scholastic All-American placed second in the 200 IM and third in the 100 fly as a junior after taking the silver in both events during her sophomore season.
She told Swimming World:
“I could not be more excited to announce my verbal commitment to continue my academic and swimming career at the University of Wisconsin. I would like to thank my friends, family and coaches for the support they have given me through this process. I look forward to what the next four years will bring! Go badgers!”
Her best times include:
- 100 fly – 54.77
- 200 fly – 1:58.07
- 200 IM – 2:01.38
- 400 IM – 4:17.58
Lasecki will make a huge impact when she arrives in Madison as a member of the class of 2024. Her best 200 fly time would already rank her seventh all-time in Wisconsin’s program history, and she also would’ve scored in the B-final at the 2019 Big Ten Championships where the Badgers finished fifth overall in the team standings.
