Golden West Swim Club Joins Team Partnership Program with Swimming World Magazine

PHOENIX, Arizona, April 25. IN the latest addition to Swimming World Magazine's Team Partnership program, Golden West Swim Club (GWSC) recently joined up with our magazine.

GWSC head coach Bob Gillett brought close to 70 families to the partnership, allowing the club access to all of our standard team partnership programs like TYR's Age Group Swimmer of the Month, Speedo's American Relay, our goodie bag program, RSS feed, team fundraising and more.

Gillett, formerly of Arizona Desert Fox (AFOX), founded AFOX in 1972 and coached the team for the past 25 years at the Arizona Sports Ranch in Phoenix, Ariz.

Over the years, AFOX produced many great swimmers. The most notable came with Misty Hyman, who won 11 National Championships in the 100 and 200 butterfly. Hyman swam one of the greatest American Olympic efforts in history when she upset Susie O'Neil of Australia to become the 2000 Olympic Champion in the 200 fly.

"I think Southern California is the greatest swimming environment in the world," Gillett said. "…….and am looking forward to contributing to fast swimming and the development of elite swimmers, along side of all of the other great programs and coaches in this area."
