Golden Goggle Award Winners Presented OMEGA Timepieces

The 2018 Golden Goggle Awards have been presented in New York City by USA Swimming, celebrating the achievements of this year’s greatest aquatic athletes. For the Coach of the Year, Female and Male Swimmers of the Year, there was an extra element of excitement as they were each presented with an OMEGA Seamaster Planet Ocean timepiece to reward their accomplishments.

Stanford University Head Coach Greg Meehan, Katie Ledecky and Ryan Murphy were named Coach of the Year, Female Swimmer of the Year and Male Swimmer of the year, respectively.

OMEGA has a long-standing relationship with USA Swimming, serving as Official Timekeeper at the U.S. Olympic Team Trials – Swimming. Michael Phelps, the most-decorated Olympian of all time, is one of OMEGA’s Ambassadors.

Notably, OMEGA has a long-standing involvement with international swimming through its role as Official Timekeeper of the Olympic Games. The brand has served in the role on 28 occasions since 1932 and has developed and introduced the most cutting-edge timekeeping equipment that athletes rely on today. Amongst many technologies in swimming, this includes the modern starting pistol, touchpads that allow swimmers to stop their own time, on-screen graphics for spectators and the high-speed video cameras that provide invaluable support for the judges.
