Georgia Lands Howard Standout Miles Simon as Grad Transfer

Miles Simon will return home for a fifth year of swimming, grad-transferring to the University of Georgia.

The Bulldogs made the announcement on Friday, welcoming the Atlanta native after four stellar years at Howard. He helped lead the Bison to the Northeast Conference championship this year, the program’s first in 34 years, in a run that gained national attention. Simon was the Most Outstanding Swimmer of that meet, winning the 100 backstroke, 200 backstroke and 100 individual medley. He placed in the five at three events at the CSCAA National Invitational Championship.

Simon qualified for U.S. Olympic Trials in 2021, only the second swimmer from Howard to do so. He finished 61st in the 50 free at Wave 1 of Trials in Omaha. He attended Westlake High School and swam for City of Atlanta Dolphins in College Park.
