Gator Swim Club Summer Invite: Elizabeth Beisel, Ryan Murphy Win Again to Close Out Meet

GAINESVILLE, Florida, June 5. BLUEFISH'S Elizabeth Beisel won her third event of the meet while Bolles School's Ryan Murphy won his second as the Gator Swim Club Summer Invitational came to a close this evening.

Beisel picked up her third individual victory of the meet in the women's 200 fly, touching in 2:11.45. Sarasota's Taylor Katz placed second in 2:15.77 while St. Petersburg's Emma Spilman touched third in 2:16.49.

T2's Elizabeth Pelton earned her first win of the meet with a 2:09.35 in the women's 200 back, just off her top time of 2:08.79 from January. Bolles School's McKenna DeBever finished behind Pelton in 2:19.72 while Ashlee Linn of Sarasota rounded out the top three with a 2:21.07.

Ryan Murphy of Bolles School swept the men's backstroke events, dipping under 2:00 to win the 200 in 1:59.17. Lake Forest's Conor Dwyer swam a 2:02.52 for second, just ahead of Sarasota's Alexander Katz (2:02.77).

US National Team member Erika Erndl of T2 Aquatics won the women's 100 free in 55.52, with T2's Katie Hoff (56.46) and Gator Swim Club's Jamie Bohunicky (57.69) in second and third.

In other finals this evening, Yoelvis Pedraza came out on top in the men's 1500 free in 16:03.14, while Bolles School's Joseph Schooling topped the men's 200 fly in 2:00.70. Paww's Matthew Elliott (2:17.16) and Nova's Rebecca Rainer (2:35.61) won the men's and women's 200 breast, respectively.
