NEW COMMIT: Allison Ahl has verbally committed to swim for Gannon University beginning with the 2018-2019 season. Ahl is from Union City, Pennsylvania and is a senior at Corry Area High School. She swims for the Lake Erie Silver Dolphins. She was a YMCA Nationals qualifier during her time with the Corry YMCA Otters.

Ahl’s best times include:

  • 50 free- 24.30
  • 100 Free- 53.59
  • 200 Free- 1:58.40
  • 100 fly- 1:02.80
  • 500 Free- 5:35.24

She explained her decision,

“I chose Gannon University to continue my education and swimming career because of their top-notch academic majors and promising swim team with supportive and dedicated coaches and athletes. Gannon University is where I will feel the most at home because I instantly clicked with the team when I met them. I am excited to be apart of such a exceptional team. I am also excited to be on a team with some girls I’ve always had to compete against.”

Gannon finished seventh of 12 teams at the 2017 Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference Championships. At last year’s met Ahl would have snuck into the 50 freestyle A final and been Gannon’s highest finisher in the event. Her best 100 free time would make Ahl a B finalist. For two years Ashley Rega (53.97) will make a great training partner while Courtney Hubert (53.53) will overlap with Ahl for one year. She’d also add a C final swim in the 200 free.
