Friday FunDay: Art and Swimming Have Always Shared a Connection

There are lots of ways to find art in the water. The aquatic sports are full of artistic expressions from diving to swimming to artistic swimming.

So for Friday FunDay, let’s take a look at some art that shows the water and also some places to get a regular dose of swimming and artwork.

There is a Facebook group called Art for Swimmers, which gives a wide range of art from paintings to photography, highlighting the beauty and artfulness of the water. From pools to lakes to oceans, there are all kinds of ways to bring different dynamics to artwork involving water. The group features all kinds of art inspired by swimming from jewelry to painting to tattoos.

Many swimmers identify as artists like Miranda Tucker, whether that be their swimming strokes, or their passion in life, or both.

Whatever kind of art moves you, there is a way to tie that to swimming, which is something extremely special about athletics, but specifically aquatic sports.

Inspiration can come from all kinds of places and many people have some sort of memory or inspiration tied to water, whether it be swimming, the peacefulness of the water or anything in between.

What’s your artistic inspiration?
