NEW COMMIT: Futures qualifier Brim Peabody of Scarborough, Maine, has opted to remain in-state for his college career after committing to Bowdoin College beginning in the fall of 2021.
He told Swimming World:
“I am humbled to announce my commitment to swim and learn at Bowdoin College! I am super grateful for all the work that Coach Burnham and his staff put in to guide me through this process. I would like to thank my parents, friends, coaches, and teachers who have helped to motivate me along the way! Can’t wait to be a Polar Bear!”
Peabody, who does his club swimming with Coastal Maine Aquatics for coach Marcel Da Ponte, was an eight-time finalist at the Bluefish Trials/Finals meet back in January and finaled at Ithaca Sectionals last March. At the New England Senior Championships in Summer 2019, he recorded four best times and had four top-18 finishes.
His best times include:
- 100 breast – 1:00.11
- 200 breast – 2:07.83
- 50 free – 23.02
- 100 free – 48.89

Also competing for Cheverus High School, Peabody is a six-time Maine State Championship finalist. He won the 500 free and 100 breast as a junior while taking second in both the 200 free and 500 free during his sophomore season. He secured gold in the 200/500 free combo in his rookie season as well.
Peabody will make an immediate impact when he suits up for the Polar Bears as a member of the Class of 2025. He would’ve scored in the B-final of the 200 breast, 400 IM, and 500 free at the 2020 NESCAC Championships where Bowdoin finished seventh overall in the team standings.
