Florida State head swimming and diving coach Neal Studd announced the 2017-18 season schedule on Wednesday. The Seminoles will host five meets at home at the Morcom Aquatics Center, which is the most since the 2011 season.

“We’re very excited to get this season underway,” Studd said. “This schedule will test us as it has a mix of ranked teams and conference opponents. We want to continue to build on our success from last season and I think our student-athletes are anxious and eager to get the season started.”

Florida State will host Minnesota (Oct.7), along with Florida Southern, North Florida and West Florida on Nov. 4 before closing out the dual season with a three-meet home stand against Alabama and Miami (Jan. 12), Notre Dame (Jan. 19-20) and Florida Atlantic (Jan. 27).

In addition to the five meets in Tallahassee, the Seminoles have tabbed the contest against Minnesota as parents weekend in addition to the ‘Paint it Pink’ initiative. The meet against Florida Atlantic on Jan. 27 will be senior day.

The Seminoles will also host their Garnet vs. Gold exhibition on Sept. 15 at 3 p.m.

“Competing at home is big for us,” Studd said. “There is nothing like being in your home pool, racing in front of your family, friends and fans and we’re going to need their support this season.”

The men will face five teams that finished 2016-17 ranked in the CSCAA poll and are expected to be on that list again for 2017-18, including Florida (No. 5) and Alabama (No. 9) who were among the top 10.

Both squads will compete in three invites, opening the season at the All-Florida Invite in Gainesville, Fla. on Sept. 22-24. The Seminoles will head to Atlanta, Ga. for the Georgia Tech Invite (Nov. 16-18) and will also race at the Virginia Tech Invite (Feb. 2-4) prior to the ACC Championships in Greensboro, N.C. (Feb. 14-17 & 21-24).

The Women’s NCAA Championships will be hosted by Ohio State University from March 14-17 in Columbus, Ohio and the Men’s NCAA Championships will follow from March 21-24 at the University of Minnesota in Minneapolis.
