Florida Gulf Coast Picks Up Verbal Commit From Brooke Woellert
NEW COMMIT: Brooke Woellert of the Cincinnati Marlins has announced her verbal commitment to swim for Florida Gulf Coast University, beginning in the 2018-2019 season. Woellert is from Cincinnati, Ohio and swims for the Cincinnati Marlins. She’s a senior at Mariemont High School.
Woellert is all around fairly versatile. Her best times are:
- 100 Back 57.46
- 200 Back 2:04.71
- 100 Breast 1:06.30
- 200 Breast 2:23.47
- 100 Fly 57.19
- 100 Free 53.89
- 200 IM 2:06.26
At last year’s Coastal Collegiate Sports Association Championships she would have been a 100 backstroke B finalist. The Eagles had two sophomores in the A final- Doris Eichhorn (53.65) and Kiley Eble (55.29). They’ll be training partners for Woellert for one year. In the 100 breaststroke Woellert would also be a B finalist. Freshman Elizabeth Zubero (1:04.52 prelims) was also a B finalist who will be able to train with Woellert for two years.
She said of her decision,
