NEW COMMIT: The University of Florida has reeled in a verbal commitment from Kacper Stokowski, a World Junior record holder from Poland. Stokowski is a backstroker. He holds the World Junior Record in the 50 and 100 backstrokes in SCM.
At this summer’s FINA World Junior Championships Stokowski finished third in the 50 backstroke.
His best times are (SCM/LCM):
- 50 Back 23.40/25.27
- 100 Back 50.53/54.60
- 100 Free 58.07/50.03
- 200 Free 1:44.56/1:48.51
His backstroke times yield fairly different conversions, though the SCM ones are quicker, suggesting good news for his transition to yards. By the shorter numbers, he could be as quick as 21 low in the 50 and 45 mid in the 100. His freestyle times are much more consistent, landing him at about 43 mid and 1:34 mid.
